2009 Season

I am currently attending BYU and have been to a few of the men's v-ball matches and while we have flashes of brilliance at times we just cant finish like we normally do.  We have a very strong outside hitter in Andrew Stewart and have seen some solid play from Jeff Robinson and Kevin Sagers who have been switching off at the other outside spot.  While Reed Chilton has been a strong setter, Yamil Perez brings a nasty serve off the bench and usually comes in to take the serve when power and points are needed.  I have been most impressed by Freshman MB Futi Tavana.  He has been very strong in the middle with not only a good block but a dependable offense as well.  If we can learn how to finish matches we will be a veryy solid team in the future.  But for now it seems that inexperience and lack of composure have been our achilles tendon.  Any other thoughts?

Men's Volleyball

Well the BYU men's volleyball is strutting their stuff sweeping #5 Pepperdine on Saturday night.  With a 3rd string setter nonetheless.  They travel to UCLA this weekend to take on the Bruins.  UCLA is only one of four teams with an all-time winning record against the Cougars along with Pepperdine, IPSW, and Long Beach State.
